WHY NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SAFETY MATTERS!

…AND WHAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS ASK BEFORE BOOKING YOUR LEEDS PHOTOGRAPHER.

Badge to show safety qualification in newborn handling and safety

Welcoming your new baby into the world is one of life’s most precious moments — and those early days pass in the blink of an eye. As a certified newborn safety photographer in Leeds, I’ve undergone specialist training to ensure every session puts your baby’s comfort and wellbeing first. Newborn photography is the perfect way to freeze time, but did you know not all photographers are trained in newborn safety?

What does safety-certified mean?
It means I’ve been trained in:

  • Safe posing techniques (supporting delicate necks and joints)
  • Spotting baby cues (like temperature, hunger or over-stimulation)
  • Hygienic studio practices
  • Working calmly and confidently with newborns of all temperaments

Sadly, newborn photography safety in Leeds isn’t regulated — so anyone can pick up a camera and offer to pose your tiny baby. That’s why it’s so important to ask:

✨ Are you trained in newborn safety?

I’m proud to say that every image I capture is done with baby’s safety, comfort and needs at the heart of it all. The beautiful sleepy poses you see? They’re created slowly, gently, and never forced. I will never position your baby into any unnatural looking poses and they are completely in charge throughout their session.

So if you’re looking for a photographer who will treat your newborn with the same care you would, I’d love to welcome you into my calm, cosy studio here in Guiseley, Leeds.

Let’s create something beautiful — and safe — together 💕

Book your newborn session now or get in touch with any questions.
