Learning lessons in life from the kindest young man…

FIne art portrait of a handsome young man with the kindest heart.

In my home town of Guiseley, the most heartwarming story has been unfolding.

A young schoolboy called Ewan, armed with nothing more than his pocket money and a desire to spread joy, embarked on a mission to bring smiles to strangers’ faces.

The impact of a simple gesture

Seeing the opportunity to brighten the world around him and using his own pocket money, he purchased bunches of flowers and handed them out to total strangers, simply to elicit smiles and spread happiness.

Ewan’s genuine enthusiasm and infectious smile captivated the hearts of those he encountered. From young children to elderly individuals, his thoughtfulness resonated deeply, and the community of Guiseley took notice.

Local florist Flowers by Karen saw one of the posts on social media about him and got in touch to help and has provided him with some bunches to help him with his worthy cause.

A gift to remember

As a professional portrait photographer, my passion lies in capturing moments that touch the soul and when I first heard about this remarkable boy and his mission, (and once I had dried my tears!) I knew I had to document his journey through my lens.

I felt compelled to capture this incredible story and to gift a fine art photography portrait series to his lovely Mum Paula, as a testament to his unwavering kindness and to credit her for raising such an inspiration.

A Titanic effort

Ewan had told me when we met that his favourite film was Titanic and that he loved the style of that era, so we took time to style some shots with a little nod towards this.

In another example of community spirit, I even reached out to my lovely neighbours for a more suitable chair than I had and they didn’t disappoint.

A lasting legacy

This wonderful young boy’s story of spreading joy through simple acts of kindness serves as a powerful reminder of the profound impact we can have on others’ lives. It reminds us that even the smallest gestures can create a ripple effect that reverberates throughout a community, inspiring others to embrace kindness and compassion.

His Mum, Paula (who owns local business Paula’s Paint Pots) was so pleased with their photos and may have shed a tear or two at their viewing..and so did I to be fair!.. partly because Ewan arrived with a beautiful bouquet for me too, making me recipient number 79!

Just be kind

In a world that often seems preoccupied with chaos and negativity, I feel so grateful to have met this lovely family and I will forever admire Ewan’s determination to make a difference, one smile at a time.
